Juan Diaz Contreras, 19, of Fitchburg, is charged with murder in the death of Robert "Robbie" Wright-Day on Tuesday, the Worcester County District Attorney said. He was arrested at his home without incident on Thursday night.

Edgar K. Perez-Tuero, 21, of Gardner, and Christian Joel Santiago, 19, of Leominster, were charged with assault and battery in the case, the prosecutor said.

Police were called to the Riverside Village Apartment complex on State St. around 1 a.m. and found Wright-Day suffering from a stab wound, authorities said.

Paramedics rushed him to Leominster Hospital, where he died.

Loved ones created a GoFundMe for Robbie's family. The campaign has raised more than $13,000 of its $20,000 goal in three days.

Robbie leaves behind a mother, father, and many brothers and sisters, according to his obituary.  His family wrote that he was a talented musician and gifted athlete.

Robert was a beacon of humility, love, thoughtfulness, and compassion. Despite his young age, Robert's impact on those around him was profound, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His love for football, and basketball, and writing his own rap music brought joy to his life and those around him. Most importantly, he valued his family above all else, a testament to his loving nature.

Calling hours for Robbie Wright-Day will be Tuesday, May 14, at 5 p.m. at Mack Family Funeral Homes, 105 Central St. in Gardner. A funeral service is set for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15. Internment will follow at noon, his obituary said.
